In the Garden

Last summer, my moms added 2 new raised garden beds, to make a total of 4 raised beds to plant herbs and vegetables. They said that I could "help" in the garden this year... last year I was too small and couldn't even sit up, unassisted! I wasn't too sure, at first. But, I kind of liked the dirt... it tasted a little dry, though! Here I am, helping to prepare the beds. We had to weed and get the other things out (like sticks and rocks). My moms said that I can help water the plants and watch them grow. And later in the summer, I can even help pick things when they're ready!

New Stats

Because Lisa's parents (Phoenix's grandparents, Mormor and Morfar) were at both Phoenix's birthday party and the adoption ceremony... we have even MORE photos to post (from Mormor's camera)! And, an update, Phoenix had a doctor's appointment for his chicken pox, hepatitis A, and mumps, measles, and rubella shots on Tuesday (4/20) we have his new "stats". Phoenix is now 20 lbs. 13 oz. (he's at the 20th percentile in weight). He is 31 1/4" long (the 90th percentile!) and his head has a circumference of 46 1/2 cm (now at the 60th percentile)! YAY for Phoenix! The doctor said, after noting how much and often he eats and sleeps, that this is the reason for his incredible growth! These percentiles are not adjusted for his preemie-ness, so he is being compared to other babies his actual age (a little over 12 months). His doctor is also impressed with his developmental milestones. He's almost caught up with other non-preemie babies his age, both in gross and fine motor skills and verbally. She told us that she can tell that he is both very much loved and well cared for. And, she told us that he's "definitely a keeper"!! We think so too!

FIRST Birthday Party!

Phoenix had a big first birthday party! Thank you to everyone (family and friends) who could come celebrate! We had lots of good food, fun gifts, and good times!

Adoption Day in Portland!

April 14th was a very special day! Mormor and Morfar took the train to Portland from Seattle to witness, support, and celebrate Steph legally adopting Phoenix. She is now his "second parent"! IT'S OFFICIAL! Phoenix got to swing / pound the gavel! HURRAY! Yay for Phoenix!
