DD Ranch (Part 1)
We're going to make 3 or 4 posts for this event, because we have so many pictures (and we'll try to post a 3 second video, as well).
Phoenix has been very into COWS recently and wants to stop at the side of the road and "see" them. Phoenix and his Mor (Lisa) have the same definition of "see" and that would be "touch"!
So, we (Phoenix and Lisa) decided to visit the DD Ranch in Terrebonne, again. We visited over 7 months ago, during the first part of October, to get some pumpkins to carve for Halloween. This time, Phoenix was MUCH more into "seeing" all of the animals and he wanted to pet and feed each one! There were peacocks, ducks, chickens, roosters, rabbits, pigs, cows, horses, miniature horses, donkeys, goats, and sheep. Phoenix enjoyed it so much (even though the weather didn't really cooperate) that we'll be going back this weekend when Mommy (Steph) comes home.
This is a working ranch that the couple live on and keep it open to the public. They sell meat (from their livestock) and they have a u-pick garden / farm, as well. They have an event area and are open for Halloween and Christmas activities. In the "off season" they are open daily for visitors and school field trips. There is a petting zoo and 2 play areas for kids. These are free! And, a hay ride is just $3 and $5 for a pony ride. We just did the "free" things today!
