Christmas at home in Redmond!

We saved a couple of Christmas gifts to open at home, so that Steph (Mommy) could take part in the "fun"! Here is Phoenix opening up 2 new musical noise makers! He got a drum and a xylophone (yay!). We noticed, after he opened them, that they are meant for age 2 years and older... but, he is starting to get the hang of it! Since, you know, he's "advanced"! The visiting nurse who evaluated him again this week told us that although his "rating" for gross motor skills (crawling, walking) is low for his age, he IS "advanced" for his fine motor skills. He was weighed in at 18 lbs. 6 oz. And, he was measured at 28 1/2". Phoenix's next pediatrician's appointment is January 26th, where we will get his "official" weight and measurements, and we will post them, then.

TEETH...

I'm finally cutting my FIRST TOOTH! YAY! OUCH.

Christmas

Unfortunately, Phoenix didn't get enough rest (naps) before we celebrated Christmas in Kent, WA, so he was pretty fussy all night. Here he is after his sweater came off (it got quite warm at his great aunt Dagmar's house!). And a couple of shots of everyone gathered after eating dinner.

Opening Christmas Presents

Here is Phoenix sitting in his Morfar's (grandpa, Lisa's dad) lap opening gift -- a book about Bedtime!

Having fun with Dagmar

While at Pike's Place Market, we met Lisa's aunt Dagmar and cousin Jen as well as Phoenix's aunt Anna Maria, at a pub for lunch. Here is Phoenix with his great-aunt Dagmar!

Visiting Family

We visited Phoenix's aunt Anna Maria and uncle Dimitri at their new apartment in downtown Seattle.

First Bus Ride

Phoenix took his first bus ride going from his grandparents house all the way downtown to Pike's Place Market in Seattle, and back. He acted like an old pro, even charming several other bus riders there and back!

Silly Basket-car!

Phoenix's Mormor thought it would be fun to get some pictures of Phoenix sitting in a gift basket, under the Christmas tree! Phoenix actually thought it was fun, like his own personal basket-car!

Story Time

Phoenix was able to partake in daily book readings with his Mormor (grandma, Lisa's Mom) during our week and a half visit over the holidays. His two favorite books were the "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" (complete with animal sound effects from Mormor!) and his new board book he got for Christmas, "Mommy, Mama, and Me"!

A Christmas Moment

Here's Phoenix with his new frying pan (plastic) that he got in his stocking. He is having a relaxing moment sitting with his Morfar (grandpa) running his finger nails across the ridges on the bottom of the pan -- self soothing! We were at Phoenix's great-aunt Dagmar's house celebrating with Lisa's cousins and siblings (and their spouses) and we enjoyed a wonderful Swedish Christmas dinner.
