Go Ducks!

My Mommy (Steph) has been waiting for me to fit into this Oregon Duck jumper, and LOOK, I fit now! I'm seeing who I want to call on my Mor's (Lisa's) phone. Does anyone want to order a pizza?!

Last swimming class... until Summer!

Even after getting Phoenix a new swim shirt, the water is still just too cold at our local swimming pool. So, we're going to wait for Summer before going again! The water babies class is held outside and the pool (and weather) is much warmer! So, here are pictures of Phoenix's last swimming class.

EVEN MORE pool pictures

We have to find the camcorder cables to hook up to the laptop before we can post any videos of Phoenix's first swimming lesson. I'm just not exactly sure where we put them! So, here's some extra photos!

More POOL pictures

WATER BABY!

Yesterday, I took my very first swimming lesson and it was my very first time in a big swimming pool. This past summer, I got to splash in a lake and in a big wading pool, but this was my first time in a big kid's pool! The class is called Water Babies and there are a bunch of other babies with their mommies (and one daddy) learning to get used to the water and learning some basic moves in the water. I had a LOT of fun, but I was pretty exhausted by the end of the class. My Mommy (Steph) took the day off work so that she could participate. All of my classes are on days / times that my Mommy will be at work. So, on Thursday, my Mor (Lisa) has to take me by herself. She's going to have her hands full trying to get the both of us ready and cleaned up / changed to go back home, but we're going to try! While Mommy was in the pool, Mor took a BUNCH of pictures and video to record this exciting event! It was like taking a splish-splash bath with a bunch of other babies and mommies! I really enjoyed my time in the pool! I can't wait to go back. I get to go 2 times a week for 4 weeks. And, depending on how it goes, I might get to do it again next month, too!

See my TEETH!?!

I got these Spongebob Squarepants thermal pj's from my aunt Andrea (I think maybe my cousin Riley helped pick them out?) and even though I'm not quite 10 months (8 months, adjusted for me being a preemie) it's a 12 month size and I fill it out quite well! My moms tell me I'm getting to be SUCH a BIG BOY! I went to an early intervention nurse / physical therapist yesterday to evaluate my development and motor skills, since I was born early... and I did a good job. So good that I'm not "eligible for their services". They gave my moms some "homework" / exercises to do with me, to help me with some of my movements I need a little help with. We practiced at the clinic and I think I'm going to be able to crawl pretty soon! I'm very excited... but, my Mor said she isn't quite ready! If you click on one of the pics, it will get big and you can see my 2 bottom teeth! My Mor (Lisa) noticed that they came in crooked and hopes that my adult teeth don't come in that way or she says I might need to wear braces. I'm not sure what those are, but she didn't look too pleased about it.

Doctor's visit and bananas

I like to eat my banana squeezed through a mesh bag food ring! It's fun and super messy / sticky! I went to the doctor today and she said I'm doing a great job at growing! I'm 18 lbs. 11 oz. and 29 3/4" long. I'm only in the 25th percentile in weight, but I make up for it in height, because I'm in the 90th percentile! We don't adjust my age anymore, so I'm doing really well at getting caught up! Stay tuned for cool new pictures, because next week I get to start taking swimming lessons! YAY!

Hanging Christmas Ornaments

We got Phoenix 2 "my first Christmas" ornaments this year, but he didn't get a chance to hang them until AFTER Christmas! Here he is in his new Star Wars t-shirt, hanging his ornaments! I don't think he quite got the point of it (not very "fun"). He'd rather take them OFF and taste them! Yes... the tree is now down! And, we're still putting Christmas decorations / lights away!

Surprise Gift Box!

We recently chose to inform Lisa's birth mother (and family) of the birth of Phoenix, just over the holidays. As well as "coming out" to them (about Steph and Lisa being together) unsure of their reaction. Well, just today, we got a nice letter and cards along with a WONDERFUL and FUN box of COOL and THOUGHTFUL gifts for Phoenix. He got several really nice outfits to grow into, LOTS of cool books, much needed bibs, a set of toy animal cars, a Mommy and baby rubber ducky pair with matching washcloths, a Target gift certificate, etc. The box was filled with colorful packaging and festive confetti! What a fun surprise! One of the books is a bath book that Phoenix can both hold by himself and "taste" (he loves to put everything in his mouth!). Here are a few photos of how excited he got!
