Happy 2nd Birthday Phoenix! April 6, 2011

Phoenix's birthday plans were changed when instead of a visit to Seattle (and a first trip to the zoo) when his Mormor came down to our house to help us start preparing for a move and a garage sale. We will more properly celebrate his birthday sometime later this summer, after we are settled into a new house in the Valley.

But, we did have a small celebration with just us (Steph, Lisa, and Lisa's mom) on his birthday. We started with a morning juice and cupcakes and a candle, as well as inflatable dinosaurs and balloons accompanied by a rousing round of "Happy Birthday". Then, we "boinged" (went downstairs) to open up birthday cards and presents from everyone.

Then, Lisa's mom treated everyone to dinner at "our place", Diego's in Redmond.... YUM!

First Visit with my Cousin Tycho

We made an impromptu visit to Portland, when we decided to escort my Mormor back across the pass, and we stopped by to meet my new cousin Tycho in Portland, for the first time! I took right to my Aunt Gabrielle (my moms think it's because she has red hair like my Mommy, Steph). We also noticed that Tycho really took to my Mommy (Steph) probably because she has red hair, too! But, my Uncle Per was a little scary to me -- like a great big GIANT! I really liked my new cousin Tycho. I love babies -- even though he's already almost as big as me!

And, my aunt and uncle even had birthday presents there waiting for me! How fun! These photos are courtesy of my Mormor, since we didn't have our camera with us! My Mor (Lisa) said that holding baby Tycho reminded her of holding her "baby" brother Per (my uncle, the TALL one) many years ago!

St. Lucia Crown

St. Lucia Day is on December 13th, but Mormor gave my Mor (Lisa) a Lucia crown (to start using next year!) and I showed her how you are supposed to wear it! It was really too big for me! I really like flashlights and candles, so this crown of lights really appealed to me!

I LOVE SLIDES!

My new big thing is SLIDES! From the 2 in my back yard, to the 6 at the local park! I don't even care that it's freezing outside... I want to slide, slide, slide! YAY! These photos are courtesy of my Mormor (shy guy mom mom) that she took during her visit!

Shy Guy Guy Mom Mom

My Mormor (grandma) came to help out for a week, so that my Moms could sort out things for a big garage sale and start packing for a move -- I don't know about a move or even what one is, all I know is that the house (and my play room) is a MESS!

Here are some pictures of me spending time with my Mormor, playing outside in my back yard, on a slide that my Mormor and my Mor put together for me and reading stories with my Mormor. I call her "shy guy guy mommom". I am VERY shy and I tell everyone I meet that I am a "shy guy" and put my head down if they start to talk to me. I haven't seen my Mormor in so long, that I even told her that I was a shy guy. But, it morphed into "guy guy" and "shy guy guy" and then I realized that "Mormor" is the same as "mom mom", so now I call her "shy guy mom mom" but sometimes "shy guy" turns into "guy guy". As you can see, I did get over my "shy guy" mode, but every morning, when I greeted her, I told her I was a "shy guy"... then I ran up to her to be silly!

Hiking at Deschutes River in Bend

I got to go hiking again today... but it ended abruptly when my Mommy (Steph) let me walk in the river (with my hiking shoes and socks -- no rubber boots). It was colder than the other day and windy. My feet got REALLY COLD and I just had enough.

This was in Bend at the Deschutes River. There is a park and a walking trail along the river, through most parts of town. When we hike, I get to be the LEADER!

Checking out some baby chicks

My moms want to raise some chickens (for their eggs) and although we're not ready yet, they wanted to see how I would react to some baby chickens (chicks) at a local farm store. Well, I thought they were great and I can't wait until we get our own! They said probably not for another year or two, though. But, we're still learning as much as we can about keeping chickens.

Hiking in the Canyon

Last week I went hiking for my very first time and I LOVED it. Unfortunately, my moms didn't have the camera to take any pictures. We were driving through Santiam Pass and I guess I was being fussy so they stopped at a camp site at Soda Springs. We walked the trail up and down the hill to the river and falls. I even walked into the river... it was COLD! I wanted to get in, but my moms said NO WAY!

Anyway, we live near a "canyon" and it has a walking trail. Some of it is paved with asphalt, and some is just dusty dirt and brush. Sometimes, I like to be an adventurer and wander off... but my Mommy (Steph) captured some pictures on her cell phone before dragging me out of there, when it was time to leave. I was stomping in the piles of dusty dirt to make clouds of dust, but my Mommy never got a good shot of any of the dust clouds I made, just me standing there stomping my foot! We had 2 of my dogs with us -- Nacho ('cho) and Sable ('bo).

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I celebrated St. Patrick's Day by taking a GREEN bath! Yay! I didn't like it when my Mor tried to mix the blue and yellow soap "paint" to try to make a green clover on my chest. It just turned to bubbles, which I only want to touch if they are big blowing bubbles (not in a bath)! But it wasn't too overwhelming... so, I dealt with it... long enough for her to take pictures!
