New Learning Tower

We went to the thrift store yesterday and found this hand made version of the Learning Tower with a removable, height adjusting platform, that my Mommies wanted to get for me. My Mor wants to add some extra bracing / supports and paint it red, but I got to try it out first! After I had my snack, I helped Mommy make brownies!

Cooking with Mommy

Sometimes I get to "help" Mommy cook. I get to stir the pot, if I'm careful!

At the Beach near Coos Bay, OR

I think this is the first time Phoenix has actually been ON the beach... we've driven by, but had yet to get out to let him experience it! Unfortunately, his first experience was on a cold, wet, and windy day.... we'll definitely need to go again next Summer when it's warmer (and dry). He really loves playing in water, but not when it's ice cold! And, he doesn't seem to like wet sand on his hands!

But, he was a sport and touched all kinds of seaweed and shells and rocks before his hands just got too cold and we had to put his mittens on.

He was bundled in layers and actually kept very dry (except for his hands)!

Phoenix chased the seagulls with the dogs and then when he was worn out, he got back in his wagon for a ride back to the car!

Petting Zoo

We went to the DD Ranch in Terrebonne to go to the pumpkin patch and petting zoo last week. The kid's corral was a fun play area for kids a little older and bigger than me, but my moms said we could play in it next year. And, they said that next year, if I want to, I can have a pony ride, too. Here I am feeding the baby cow (calf) and baby pigs with Mommy (Steph). She said it tickled. It was bright out, so we both were wearing our sunglasses! I liked all of the animals and their noises, but I didn't really want to pet any, just look! They had chickens, pigs, cows, ducks, rabbits, goats, donkeys, and sheep (both as babies and big ones!).

Being SILLY with Mormor at the Saturday Market

Yesterday, we went to Portland to have a baby shower for my Aunt Gabrielle (My Mor, Lisa's brother's wife). She is going to have my new little cousin (a boy!) soon. After brunch at Mother's Bistro in downtown Portland with everyone, we went to the Saturday Market. Here I am being silly with my Mormor (Lisa's mom). It was raining, but I didn't mind -- I love water, in any form!

WALKING!

I'm WALKING now (without holding on to anything or anyone)! YAY for Phoenix! My Mor (Lisa) had a hard time getting pictures because I walk faster than the camera can zoom in and out / focus to take a picture! But here are some pictures!

Washing Tomatoes

I LOVE playing in water, especially running water. I'm helping Mommy wash tomatoes before she makes spaghetti sauce with them! It's serious work. Mor (Lisa) tried to get me to smile, but I'm too BUSY to smile! I have to concentrate.

I'm starting to actually "talk" more. I mostly do animal sounds, but one of my favorite words (besides "YEAH" an enthusiastic YES and "YAY") is "Mom". I use it all the time to get both my Mommy and my Mor's attention, right now. I also say "no" and shake my head if I'm asked to do something I don't want to do (or taste). And, I say "juice" (for juice, milk, water, etc.). Then there are words that only my mommies know... like "dumb dogs" ("duh-doz") when the dogs are barking outside and "good job" ("gu-go") when I do something good. I follow that with a "YAY" and a one handed clap on my chest!

I'm also really WALKING now and starting to RUN! I can also climb stairs and I can even climb a ladder! Pictures will be posted of me walking as soon as my Mor takes them later today. I'm napping now.

My COOL new shades!

I got these new sunglasses this week! I'm not too sure about them, yet -- my eyelashes hit the lenses and it feels funny to have something strapped to my face! But, Mommy says I look "COOL"! I can wear them upside down or right side up and there's a strap in the back to keep them on my head. They're rubberized and flexible so they're actually pretty comfortable!

Teething

Phoenix has more teeth coming in .... multiple molars (in all four quadrants). So, he's been pretty fussy and VERY "drool-y"! Here he is chewing BOTH of his hands, trying to sooth his teething.
